At Asheville Portrait Company, we believe that your Pregnancy deserves to be beautifully preserved, with artistry and intention. Our Studio is designed for mothers who want refined, magazine-worthy portraits that feel elevated, artistic, and timeless. This is not traditional maternity photography. This is maternity portraiture inspired by fashion editorials, fine-art lighting, modern storytelling and the Blue Ridge Mountains!
At Asheville Portrait Company, we value family & try really hard to prioritize having a Healthy Work / Life Balance. We believe that it directly affects our attitude, energy, creativity and ultimately our success.
As such, we can only take on 5 Expectant Mamas for Maternity Portrait Sessions each month. We encourage you to book you session as far in advance as possible to ensure availability for your session!
How far in advance should we book our portrait session?
That depends on your preference for outdoor or studio Maternity Portraits!
We can either shoot in our Biltmore Village Studio OR we can shoot outdoors, in and around Asheville, along the Blue Ridge Parkway, at Biltmore Estate, the NC Arboretum or UNCA Botanical Gardens & Observatory or we can find another magical little spot to make your maternity dreams come true!
Where do we shoot?

I've worked with couples who want a more casual, lifestyle or boho vibe.
I've also worked with couples who want to dress in black tie for a couture session!
Your Creative Fee covers a Couture Maternity Gown Rental for you and we have a Client Closet at the studio that you could pick something from as well!
What do I wear?
We schedule trusted local artists for hair & makeup service to glam you up before your Maternity Portrait Session!
This typically happens approximately two hours before your scheduled portrait session time.
What about hair & makeup?
Mama! You're the star of this show! Your partner will be in a supporting role & will want to dress in a way that is complimentary to the theme, wardrobe and/or gown you've chosen for the session! They'll want to dress in a way that feels authentic, in a way that makes them feel comfortable and confident — like the very best version of themselves! I am happy to help you to put together wardrobe for the session!
What should my partner wear?
Nothing really!
But, I do love it when expectant parents bring Sonograms. IVF needle collections or any other sentimental things from their pregnancy journey!

Where is the studio located?
Due to high demand and limited availability, Creative Fees are non-refundable for any reason.
In the event of illness, inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, we will simply re-schedule for the very next available date / time that works for both of us!
If possible, we will shoot before or after any inclement weather.

Bethany mentioned that she was torn between wanting a boho studio session and wanting beautiful, picturesque, outdoor Maternity Photos. So, I suggested we shoot both (since my studio is so close to Biltmore Estate), it would be easy to just pop over to the estate to capture some spring blooms and also some mountain views while we were at it!
