Asheville Family Photographer shares a look at a lovely Family Portrait Session shot among the Sunflowers at Biltmore Estate and along the Blue Ridge Parkway!
One of my favorite things that Autumn brings — is the opportunity to photograph children and their families among the Sunflowers on Biltmore Estate! Actually, this sunflower session wasn’t part of the plan for the Riester’s Family Adventure Session! We had actually planned to shoot exclusively along the Blue Ridge Parkway but on the day of their first session, we met at the Cradle of Forestry Overlook and once we were out of the cars and shooting, the skies opened up and it started raining! Mom had paid for a hair style for the session so I was determined to get at least (something) while we were there, since we’d driven all that way! The images you see at the end of this post are just a portion of what were were able to capture in about 10 minutes of shooting! :p
On our second attempt, we planned to meet at Biltmore in the morning to (hopefully) avoid those late summer afternoon rain showers! The upsides to shooting in the morning, in late summer are: that it’s definitely cooler in the morning! Baby is happy and there aren’t many people around! 🙂 The downside for this session was that the fog hadn’t yet lifted for the day and we didn’t get to shoot in the sunshine!
Nevertheless, despite our weather challenges, I think we were all pretty happy with the way these adorable images turned out for this sweet family!
Enjoy!
